Jordan and Lucy’s proposal at ByDand Winery in Napa was the kind of setting that feels effortless from the moment you arrive. The property is tucked into the valley with beautiful open grounds, rolling vineyard views, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes the entire experience feel private and intimate.

One of the unique parts of ByDand Winery is the private tasting experience, which adds a really nice intimacy to the proposal. The proposal can be planned either before or after the tasting, depending on what feels right for you and the flow of the day.

One of my favorite features at ByDand Winery is the grounds and wild scenery, especially the rolling hills and the beautiful tree where I photographed this proposal. They were under that tree for the proposal itself, which is one of my favorite spots on the property.

In the morning, the light works especially well here for portraits. It is soft and clean, and it works beautifully for both candid moments and portraits right after the proposal.
