I was recently asked back to Napa Wealth Management to photograph the staff in order to augment their rebranding initiative and give a clearer picture of their personal and professional commitment to managing family finances. After our initial meeting before the session, George McCuen, founder and president, asked me to use my artistic vision to capture formal and casual photographs showcasing the personality of each individual member in order to create a more personable feel. He also wanted to refresh their group shot that included their place of business, a beautifully renovated building located in downtown Napa. For this project, striking that balance between personal and professional would be the key.
I truly enjoyed photographing Goose & Gander, a well-known St. Helena bar and restaurant owned by Andy and Trisha Florsheim. I had the opportunity to witness them prepare their rustic American dishes and lavish cocktails with my camera. I am impressed and excited by their artful food. Being able to capture people as they create beautiful products in their own environment is what makes commercial photography incredibly fun and unique.
For a year, I have been working with Laffort in Petaluma and St. Helena, an international wine-tech development company with headquarters in Bordeaux, France. One of the perks of living in wine country is quite obvious: the wine. I was granted the opportunity to photograph the MORE Uncorked/Women of the Vine 2013 event at the Westin Verasa here in Napa Valley, which was sponsored by MORE Magazine and WineDirect.com, a popular Napa-based wine fulfillment company. With attendees such as Marisa Taylor Huffaker of Rutherford Hill, Molly Hill of Sequoia Grove, Amelia Morán Ceja of Ceja, and Lisa Bishop Forbes of Chalk Hill wineries, the courtyard was filled with powerful women who make some of the best wine in the world.

This commercial photography assignment for The Napa Valley Marketplace Magazine began when I met the wife of local businessman George McCuen of Napa Wealth Management. George wanted professional photographs taken of himself, his team and their offices.
