High School Senior Photographs in Napa

This was a shoot very near and dear to my heart – my gorgeous niece Tiffany.  She is a senior graduating from Maria Carrillo High school in Santa Rosa this May, and she asked me to be her Senior Portrait Photographer.  An option I always offer my clients, is to shoot right here at my home studio in Napa Valley which is surrounded by 5 acres of wild woodlands.

With Tiffany’s natural beauty, she looks stunning against a gorgeous hillside as her blue eyes shine against the autumnal colors surrounding her.  She is thrilled with her Senior Portraits and so are her friends.  All three girls have a great memory of their friendship, high school experience and this time in their life.

This was such a fun day, and Tiffany was so excited to bring her two best friends.  Each of the girls had their own photo shoot and we did several group photos as well – this is great way to do a session.  In fact, I offer a senior portrait package called “Pas de Deux” where 2 or more friends share their time, and the cost of the photo shoot.   I find that young clients are very comfortable when friends are around –it makes it easier for my them to relax and just be themselves, which ultimately brings out the best in everyone!

Engagement Photography in Carneros

As a referral from one of my industry partners, wedding planner extraordinaire Sharon Burns, I was introduced to this great couple Sara and Zach who are to be married later this year.  As part of all of my wedding photography packages, I always hold an engagement shoot a few months prior to the main event which serves multiple functions:  the relationship between photographer and wedding couple is solidified as I gain a sense of the energy and personality of the bride and groom.  In the end, I have a much greater understaniding of who they are as individuals and as a couple.  That way, on their wedding day, I am better able to anticipate and capture every wonderful, loving moment on film to be savored forever.

For some time now, I have driven by an abandoned train station in-between Napa and Sonoma in the Carneros Appellation of Napa Valley.  I felt the bright colors and overgrown grass and trees would make for fantastic visuals.   I had a feeling this couple in particular would love shooting their engagement photos at this location.   Sara and Zach loved it, and we were all inspired by the colors and the aesthetic  –they were able to relax and just be themselves here and it shows!  The results are perfect.
