Newlywed Photography in Napa Valley {Xia + Homer}

Christophe Genty is a photographer specializing in weddings of all kinds based in Napa Valley who works throughout The San Francisco Bay Area, and beyond. He recently received the prestigious “Best of the Knot 2015” once again by the well-known print and online magazine, The Knot.com.

A few weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to photograph a newly wed session with a lovely couple from China who currently live in the Bay Area. Having already gotten married, they were drawn to the allure of Wine Country for their post-wedding photo shoot. Originally from the Gansu and Jiangxi provinces, Huangmao (Homer) and Xia called me and set up an appointment to take pictures during their romantic getaway in Napa.

We met for our session in the Los Carneros area just outside of town. The scenery was so spectacular and the couple so dynamic, our options for great photos seemed limitless. In fashion, every shot was perfect.

This couple made my experience even more fun than I had anticipated: they didn’t just allow me to capture their love for each other, but also spent time sharing bits and pieces of their life with me. Xia recently completed her PhD in computer science and is looking forward to teaching in Boston. Homer works here in California and has a particular interest in photography, prompting a great conversation about some specifics of what I do.

I loved their enthusiasm and genuine personalities, which absolutely shines through their pictures. Homer and Xia, you are a shining example of unconditional love. Thank you for sharing it with me!

Wedding Photography at the Napa Valley Country Club

Christophe Genty is a wedding photographer based in Napa Valley who works throughout the Napa Valley, The San Francisco Bay Area, and beyond. He recently received the prestigious “Best of the Knot 2013” by the well-known print and online magazine, The Knot.com.

I truly enjoyed meeting Jessica and Ben for their engagement session in February, and was delighted to work with them again for their wedding at the Napa Valley Country Club in June. They were easygoing and ready for their big day. Surrounded by the impeccable greenery of a lush golf course, they radiated confidence together and set the tone for an incredible evening.

When I first arrived, I was taken aback by the stunning scene in front of me, complete with rolling hills showered with oak trees. But what overcame the magnificence of the location was the beauty of the couple. The chemistry between the newlyweds was so visible, and the laughter and smiles shared by their family and friends was contagious. The bridesmaids and groomsmen seemed to have known each other forever, making the atmosphere totally comfortable and relaxed.

I photographed the first look about an hour and a half before the actual ceremony, which left plenty of time in-between to take care of the formal portraits as well. Getting those done early made for a smooth transition into the reception with no pauses. With the help of the event planner at the Napa Valley Country Club, Don Guinn, the day was a complete success.

Thank you, Ben and Jessica, for sharing your most memorable day!

Wedding Photography at Bardessono in Yountville {Kirsten + Frank}

Christophe Genty is a wedding photographer based in Napa Valley who works throughout the Napa Valley, The San Francisco Bay Area, and beyond. He recently received the prestigious “Best of the Knot 2013” by the well-known print and online magazine, The Knot.com.

Kirsten and Frank flew out from Washington and their wedding was absolutely perfect. On a beautiful spring day in May, they had a charming ceremony and reception that took place at the Bardessono hotel in Yountville.

Kirsten and Frank are both successful realtor brokers in the city of Kirkland. We had a chance to meet a few months prior to the wedding at Bardessono. This was the perfect time to scout the place so I could get an idea of the bride and groom’s personal taste. We discussed the timeline of the event as well as family, friends, and specific shots that were important for them to take. I was thrilled to work with them, and couldn’t wait for the big day to arrive.

They couldn’t have chosen a more spectacular venue. Bardessono is of lavish modern design, yet it has an incredibly natural feel. The building is heavily accented by greenery and is well-known for it’s environmental consciousness. The elegant atmosphere it created was a spectacle itself, and was only brightened by the presence of the two shining individuals I was there to photograph.

The event was marvelous, with beautiful bouquets and unique décor that matched the mood set by the venue. Kirsten was stunning in her lavender dress, and Frank looked striking in his suit and tie. Surrounded by friends and family and guided by the special events manager of Bardessono, Alexis Alexander, the day was tremendously enjoyable and an absolute honor to be apart of.

Thank you, Frank and Kirsten, for allowing me the opportunity to capture your love for each other on your special day.
