Commercial Photography and Videography in Napa

For a year, I have been working with Laffort in Petaluma and St. Helena, an international wine-tech development company with headquarters in Bordeaux, France. Along with taking photographs, I’ve been busy shooting videos to showcase their revolutionary products. With the increasing importance of visual aid in marketing and the difficulty of displaying products deposited in wine barrels, what we have accomplished is something very unique.

In the video below, a sheet of round plexi-glass was installed into both sides of a wine barrel, making it possible for the viewer to witness their SO2 product (used to prevent oxidization and preserve flavor) in action. Watching the process as it occurs in real-time is visually enchanting and brings a new element to the scene of wine production.

Another video we have completed encapsulates Laffort yeast rehydration protocol, which is crucial in completing the fermentation process.

First Look Wedding Photography in Napa Valley

Medocino Elopement Photography at the Albion Inn A very popular trend in wedding photography here in Napa Valley and the Wine Country is the “First Look” photograph. The “First Look” photograph is where the bride and groom have their formal shots taken before the actual ceremony. The moment when a couple sees each other for very first time… well, it is quite simply magical. This is an incredibly private moment filled with eager anticipation, an enchanted instant where the groom actually sees his bride in her gown for the very first time, and I capture this romantic rendezvous on film. First Look photographs are nothing short of delicious.

I schedule this intimate photo shoot roughly an hour before the wedding ceremony so the bride’s hair and makeup are flawless, the gown is impeccably steamed, and the groom looks dashing in his tuxedo.  I always take special care to make this moment incredibly special and romantic.  Traditionally, the couple would wait to lay eyes on each other as the bride was being escorted down the aisle in front of all of their guests.  Now, in the first look photo session, this highly anticipated moment, is private, and I capture this tender moment in an intimate and incredibly romantic setting.

Of course, “First Look” photos are always optional, as many couples opt to be traditional and they wait to see each other for the first time at the ceremony itself.  Nevertheless, this is a trend that I don’t think will go away anytime soon.  In fact, First Look photographs have become quite popular.  It is definitely something we will want to discuss at your consultation, so you are able to make an informed decision, and we can schedule accordingly.

As you are making your decision, be sure to follow your heart, and whatever you decide to do, I will be there to capture your tender moment, excited glance, and romantic touch on film.  Ultimately, it is what I do best.

Elopement Photography at Cedar Gables Inn in Napa

Elopement photography at The Cedar Gables Inn in NapaMelissa and Ruben are a wonderful couple from Chicago who flew to Wine Country, just the two of them, to marry in Napa at the gorgeous Cedar Gables Inn in Napa.  The Inn is one of the most amazing architectural wonders in Napa County.  It was built as a private manse for a young couple in 1892 and it quickly became the center of the Napa social scene.  Nearly the entire first floor was created to entertain, and entertain they did –and still do!  The Cedar Gables Inn somehow combines turn-of-the-century glamour with an intimate atmosphere.
It was the perfect location for an elopement.

The original plan to have the wedding ceremony outside was thwarted with menacing clouds, so we moved the ceremony in-doors.  The owners of the inn worked swiftly to create the perfect ambiance –not terribly difficult considering the architecture is already so spectacular.  Kudos to innkeepers Ken and Susie for being amazing coordinators, hosts, and in a pinch—the perfect witnesses for the nuptials.

After the intimate wedding ceremony, we were able to sneak off before the rains, to one of my favorite locations for a shoot on a vineyard property complete with moody clouds and a windmill in the background.  The photographs from this location are some of my favorite of the day.

Thank you so much, Melissa and Ruben for inviting me to capture your private wedding ceremony.  It was a tremendous honor for me to be a part of it.

Christophe Genty is a photographer in Napa who specializes in weddings and portraiture with an artistic flair.
